Online Tutoring Hours!

For those of you with an off-campus or busy schedule, the Center for Excellence in Writing is pleased to announce that we offer personalized online tutoring sessions to help you improve your writing! Online tutoring is available Monday-Friday, 9 am-10 pm. Additionally, we now offer online tutoring on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Please review the Center's scheduler for online tutor availability during weekend hours.

Writing Consultants Jeanette Garcia and Bryant Huber presented at the National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing (Chicago, October 2012). Their presentation focused on the role confidence plays in writing and tutoring.
Glenn Hutchinson, Assistant Director, to perform in Harvey

Dr. Glenn Hutchinson has the lead role of Elwood in the comedy Harvey, a play that was once made into a film starring James Stewart. Glenn's character has a "friend," Harvey, a six-foot plus invisible white rabbit. Don't miss this play!

Glenn Hutchinson's play performed at Johnson C. Smith University

Glenn Hutchinson's play The Pot was performed April 12 - 29 at Johnson C. Smith, his former university. The play concerns a situation that arises when a family comes to know an undocumented college student who is facing deportation. Dr. Glenn Hutchinson, Ph.D, is the Assistant Director of the Center for Excellence in Writing.
Doctoral Students Attend Dissertation Retreat

Nine doctoral students attended a week-long dissertation retreat between spring semester and Summer A. They spent a concentrated week on their writing; some were just starting the writing process, while others were at the end. One finished!
