Dariel Suarez, a CEW tutor at the Modesto Maidique Campus, got more of his work published. His poem, "South Florida," was published in the newest issue of the journal, Barrier Islands Review. Dariel Suarez was born in Havana, Cuba, where he lived until 1997. He now resides in South Florida with his wife. He recently graduated from Florida International University, where he was the recipient of five literary awards. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in several publications, including The Florida Book Review, SmokeLong Quarterly, elimae, Barrier Islands Review, and The Acentos Review, among others. Dariel is currently working on a collection of stories set in his native country and hopes to soon pursue an MFA in creative writing. He's been a tutor at the CEW for more than a year.
